There are many shopping options in Moray Speyside, Aberdeenshire and in North Highlands for all tastes and budgets: Farm products, Antiquities, Handmade crafts produced by local artists, local food producers, international Scottish brands, a variety number of well-known whiskies and gins and clothing plus many more. Have a look at those websites and start planning!!

There are a few Antiquity shops in Cullen which are well worth a visit, they are close to each other and could easily half a day exploring the shops and the beautiful town.

In the Elgin area you will find Crafted in Moray, a small friendly shop selling handmade Art, Craft and Gifts. The shop showcases over 120 Crafters & Artists from Scotland. The shop is also selling Highland Gemstones.

Also located in Elgin, Johnstons of Elgin who produce and sell the finest Cashmere nightwear and accessories.

Still in Elgin, a definite visit is to Gordon and MacPhail, where you will find the largest selection of finest cheese within the North East Scotland and a vast range of Whiskies, Spirits and Champagnes. There is a fine delicatessen department.

Aberlour and Glenlivet have great Whisky shops too.

Garden Centres in the region are a great place to shop local and well known brands. Some Garden Centres are Christies in Fochabers, Decora in Elgin, Threaplands in Elgin and Logie Steading Farm and Garden Shop in Forres. Don’t forget to leave time for a visit to Brodie Countryfare and Spey Valley Shopping.

When travelling to the North East of Scotland whilst doing some shopping….. Bring another bag or 2 !!

Private Tours, Taxis and Private Hire vehicle

Taxi and Private Hire Vehicle operators may have put in place new measures to help with physical distancing. You may wish to confirm payment arrangements to avoid, if possible, cash transactions. We recommend before starting your journey you wash or sanitise your hands.

On your journey

You should wear a face covering when using a taxi or private hire vehicle as a consideration to your driver. See further Scottish Government guidance on face-covering and exemptions.

You should also be aware of the surfaces, like door handles, you or others touch.

Be considerate to your driver by taking all your belongings and rubbish when leaving the vehicle.

Completing your journey

When finishing your journey, you should deposit any of your used tissues or rubbish in bins. We recommend you wash or sanitise your hands (and children’s hands if you are travelling with them) as soon as possible.

More in Moray Taxi Services has made available hand gel and face masks to all passengers. Contactless payment is preferred and a card machine is available. Online booking is available for tours.

The vehicle is cleaned after every trip and is sprayed with an antibacterial disinfectant spray. This includes door handle, seats and seat belts. A deep clean is done regularly.

The maximum number of passenger we are permitting at the moment due to the COVID-19 is 6 (six passengers).
